Hisense uses Google TV, VIDAA (its own system), Fire TV and Roku, and it varies by region and year. Check your TV before buying a streaming device.

Which Hisense TVs work

Region Google TV (works) Not supported
US 2025 U7 (U7SG), U8, U9; 2024 QD6 2025 U6, QD6, QD7 and U7SF (Fire TV); Roku models (e.g. R8F)
Europe / UK None confirmed VIDAA across the range (e.g. A7NQ, E7NQ, U7NQ, U8Q)
Australia Older models only 2025 range moved to VIDAA

In US model codes, a trailing G reportedly means Google TV and F appears to mean Fire TV. Confirm on the TV.

Is this my TV?

Settings › System › About (Google TV) or Settings › Device Preferences › About (Android TV) shows Android TV OS. A VIDAA, Fire TV or Roku home screen means it’s not supported; see Not supported.

1. Turn on Developer options

  • Google TV: Settings › System › About › Android TV OS build ×7.
  • Android TV: Settings › Device Preferences › About › Build ×7.
  • Reported on some newer models (e.g. Laser TV): pressing Build doesn’t work until after a restart.

2–3. Turn on debugging and connect

Developer options › USB debugging on, then connect from ArtFrameRemote. Port 5555 has been reported working on Android TV models (e.g. 43A6H). If refused on a Google TV model, use Wireless debugging with a pairing code. IP address: Settings › Network & Internet.

4. Make ArtFrame the screensaver

Set by ArtFrameRemote. Google TV hides other screensavers from its menu.

5. Keep the screen on long enough

  • Google TV: Settings › System › Power & Energy: Energy saver (15 min to 24 h or Never) and the sleep timer.
  • Android TV: Settings › Device Preferences › Power › Auto Sleep, and No Signal Auto Power Off.

Undo

Restore the screensaver from ArtFrameRemote’s TV page; see Connecting.
